Why should we service our boilers?
Lack of maintenance will cause problems with your central heating & hot water efficiency as well as probably damaging your boiler. It is better to service your boiler every year rather than buy a new one every few years.
Make sure that you choose a Gas Safe qualified engineer (It’s the Law!!) for your Gas Boiler servicing or an OFTEC Registered Engineer to service your oil fired central heating boiler.
If you are planning to get your boiler serviced, to ensure that your old boiler continues to work or because you’ve moved into a new house get in touch and we will be happy to advise and assist you.
What are the benefits of a boiler service?
The benefits of having your boiler serviced tend to outweigh the average boiler service cost:
Save money on repairs – Your boiler should work perfectly and efficiently; a boiler service engineer will make sure your boiler is working correctly and pick up on any minor faults, which if left unrepaired, could cause major problems in the future. Servicing your boiler could save you money on larger repair bills and emergency call-out fees.
A boiler service could save your life– a faulty boiler can be extremely dangerous; around 20 people die every year in the UK from Carbon Monoxide (CO) leaks caused by faulty gas boilers and appliances; reports the Health and Safety Executive. A regular boiler service will detect any CO leaks, keeping you and your family safe from CO poisoning.
Reduce your fuel bills:
A boiler service engineer will make sure your boiler isn’t wasting energy; this can save you money on your fuel bills as well as cut your household carbon emissions. A boiler service may cut your heating bills drastically. It should save you money in the long run so that you don’t need to fully replace it
A Service may ensure your insurance is valid as many insurance providers require you to have your boiler regularly serviced.
Can I improve my heating system too?
Definitely, by using a Central Heating Flushing & Corrosion Inhibitor.
Your central heating system will almost definitely run more efficiently if flushed properly and with a good corrosion inhibitor added. Have you ever had a radiator removed and black sludge comes out and stains anything it comes into contact with? In some cases flushing can double the life of your central heating components…. That includes your boiler! The process can take anything from 3 hours to 8 hours depending on system size and condition but obviously a lot cheaper than replacing your boiler or other key components.
